Katie Price was issued a warning by Phillip Schofield after she used the N-word twice during a live broadcast of This Morning.

Price, 38, used the offensive term as she discussed the abuse that her disabled son Harvey, 14, has suffered at the hands of online trolls.

Repeating back the abusive terms that have been hurled at him, she said: “Is it strong enough to call my son a black, blind n*****? Is that not abuse? Is it not abuse to do a sex video on my son? They call him a golliwog, that’s my son, is that acceptable?”

Schofield replied: “It is deeply, deeply offensive language and people will be offended by the fact it’s been said on here.”

Minutes later she repeated the offensive term, saying: “Calling my son a n***** isn’t acceptable. You can all have banter and take the mickey. I’m not taking away freedom of speech, but there is a point where something should be done.”

The language sparked a warning from Schofield who waved his finger and told her: “Hey, you don’t need to say it again.”

Price was on the ITV daytime show to talk about her campaign for tougher punishments for online bullies, which has seen her launch a Government petition.

The mother-of-five said she reached breaking point after she saw a video in which a troll pretended to have sex with her son.

Price said: “I’ve had [abuse] online but I’ve become immune to it. But when it comes to Harvey everyday people say things about him, but some things are so bad it makes you think ‘how do people get away with this?’ Last year someone made a video as if they were having sex with Harvey.”

Although there is current legislation in place to prosecute online abusers, Price argued that it is not tackling the problem effectively. The former model is calling for online abusers to be put on to a register, in a similar manner to sex offenders.

“What would be refreshing is to find one of these trolls and ask them ‘what is it that goes through your head?’,” she said.

A teenager was arrested in February on suspicion of mocking Harvey, who is partially blind, autistic and has Prader-Willi syndrome.

The arrest came after a man, who sent Price abusive tweets about her son, apologised to her after being exposed as a troll.
