Katie Price has revealed she would love to host The X Factor.

The former glamour model, 37, would love Simon Cowell to consider her as a potential replacement for Olly Murs and Caroline Flack following their departure from the ITV show.

Price took to Twitter when she tagged Cowell in a post.

She tweeted: “I would defo present X factor @ITV @SimonCowell @TheXFactor now that would be interesting.”

Fans were quick to express their delight at the prospect with one predicting that “the ratings would fly up” while another described the idea as “fab”.

One user said she should consider joining the judging panel, tweeting: “no you would be a better judge.”

A handful of celebrity names are rumoured to be in the running for the role after Murs and Flack stepped down after just one year on the reality show.

Murs said he left to “concentrate 100 per cent on making my next album and getting back to performing” while Flack – who faced heavy criticism from viewers during her stint – said she had made amazing friends and was “looking forward to carrying on working with the team over at ITV”.

Celebrity Big Brother presenter Emma Willis is the bookmakers favourite to succeed the duo with William Hill slashing odds on her becoming the new host to 1/2 , while Ladbrokes have her at 8/1.

Rylan Clark Neal has also expressed an interest in hosting the show. Speaking on This Morning he said: "I come from X Factor, it’s the show I started on and I love the show Yes, of course I would go back. There, I’ve said it."
