Katie Price has recalled the horrifying moment she feared her son would die after he burned himself with hot water.

Price, 38, was discussing being a ‘super mum’ on Loose Women when she opened up about the traumatic incident which resulted in Harvey spending three months in hospital.

The former glamour model said Harvey – who loves water – had managed to get into her bathroom and turn the tap on before a New Year’s Eve party.

Speaking on Friday’s show she said: “I had just been riding my horse and I took my wellies off and I could hear Harvey crying.

“He burned all of his leg. It’s properly scarred to the point where his toes were like snot.

“He was on the bed and had his clothes on, and my initial reaction was to take the trousers off, and I know now that you don’t do that. When I did that all the skin and blood come off. I’ve never heard him scream like that – he was gauging at his leg.”

Price continued: “His body can’t cope with stress he can die from it. He has to have an emergency injection.”

Harvey received treatment at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital’s specialist burns unit.

The mother-of-five said she “surprised” herself with how she coped with the situation.

“I had to stay really calm so when I called the ambulance I made sure I gave them my address first,” she said. “I could hear him screaming up there but at the same time I needed to get the information across.”

Price had son Harvey with former footballer Dwight Yorke. He was born blind and has septo-optic dysplasia, Prader-Willi syndrome and is on the autistic spectrum.
