Katie Price has spoken to a Parliament select committee about her son Harvey being targeted with online abuse.

Harvey, who is partially blind, autistic and has Prader-Willi syndrome, has been the subject of online abuse on various social media platforms over the years, prompting Price to take a stand against trolls.

After a petition launched by the Loose Women star regarding punishment for online trolls reached over 200,000 signatures, MPs triggered an inquiry into the plight of cyber-abuse.

The document calls for an end to online trolling and encourages “penalties” for abusers.

Price told the committee: “I’ve got five children and all of the online abuse is only against one of my children. He gets mocked for his size, the way his eyes are, the colour of his skin. I kept reporting people and reporting people but then those get closed down and reopened so it started again.

“I got loads together and I went to the police, twice. They’ve arrested two people with all of their computers and phones and everything. But they couldn’t charge them with anything because there’s nothing in place.”

The businesswoman explained to the committee that she has tried shaming trolls online but to no avail, urging them to put legislation in place to confront what is being said.

She added: “People who mock Harvey, they know he hasn’t got a voice back and they mock him more.”

Price’s mum Amy also gave evidence to support her daughter’s campaign.

The 39-year-old is also mother to Junior, 12, Princess, 10, Jett, four, and three-year-old Bunny.
