Kanye West has broken his silence on his public feud with Taylor Swift to thank his wife Kim Kardashian for using Snapchat.

The US rapper, 39, said it was thanks to the mobile app that his fans were able to “know the truth”.

Swift and West became embroiled in a spat after he referred to the popstar as a “b****” in his Life of Pablo single, Famous.

West addressed the situation at Drake’s concert, telling fans: “All I got to say is I am so glad my wife has Snapchat.

“Because now y’all can know the truth.”

Before launching in to the controversial track he finished: “And ain’t no-one can talk s*** about Ye no more!”

Swift took aim at the lyric: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. I made that b**** famous.”

The Blank Space singer denied West’s claimed that he had sought permission to use the lyric but Kardashian hit back and posted a video which appeared to show Swift approving the line during a phone call with West.

She released a statement following Kardashian's Snapchat video and claimed she was the victim of "character assassination".

Several stars defended Swift including Sharon Osbourne and Joseph Kahn, who directed Swift's videos for Bad Blood, Blank Space and Wildest Dreams.

Iconic graffiti artist Lushsux mocked the feud and erected a giant Swift mural to commemorate the 'death of her career' which was later vandalised and replaced with a picture of West – with Swift’s blonde hair.
