Katy Perry has slated Meghan Markle’s wedding dress, saying that Kate Middleton looked better as a bride.

Perry, 33, was not a fan of the new Duchess of Sussex’s Givenchy gown, which she said didn’t fit her properly.

“I would have done one more fitting,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “I’m never not going to tell the truth! One more fitting, but I love you.”

Asked if she thought Meghan looked better than Kate, who wore a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown for her wedding to Prince William, Perry replied: “Kate, Kate, Kate won, Kate won!”

Despite her criticism, Perry said she is “so happy” for Meghan and Prince Harry. She said: “I don’t know them from Adam, but it’s amazing what she’s doing with all this, her humanitarian efforts.

“You know, the fact that she’s a proud feminist, I love all that. I support her as another woman and love her and wish them both well.”

Her comments were blasted online with many branding her a hypocrite for calling herself a “feminist” when she was “pitting” the two female royals against one another.

One Twitter user posted: “This coming from a woman that mainly dresses like a cartoon character? She will never be as elegant, beautiful and graceful as Meghan was on Saturday.”

Another tweeted: “She uses the term feminist in one sentence then comparing Meghan to Kate in the next. Will we stop pitting women against women any time soon? Orrrrrrr no?”

A third posted: “Why do women hate on other women so much? do you honestly think that she didn't have all the fittings she needed? she married a royal. budget not an issue. she had the wedding she wanted.”
