Jay-Z proved his love for wife Beyoncé by leading a crown sing-along to mark her birthday.

The US rapper, 47, made sure to kick off the celebrations during his headline set at Made In America festival in Philadelphia by initiating a huge serenade as Beyoncé, who turned 36 on Monday, watched on.

Jay-Z gave a shout out to his wife before encouraging the crowd to sing Stevie Wonder’s ‘Happy Birthday’.

“Shout out to Beyoncé,” he said. “Beautiful Bey is in the house tonight. Happy Birthday my love.”

The touching move comes days after he brought out daughter Blue Ivy to present Beyoncé with the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Beyoncé fans flooded social media with birthday wishes on Monday – but some ardent members of the Beyhive were left fuming at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for stealing her thunder after announcing they are expecting their third child.

Many were quick to question why the royal couple chose to break the news on Beyoncé’s birthday, with many branding the decision “rude”.

Others said it was “disrespectful,” accused them of “attention seeking” and argued that they should have waited until after the Crazy in Love singer had celebrated turning 36.

One fan tweeted: “Why would kate middleton announce she's pregnant again on Beyoncé's birthday? Pretty rude if u ask me.”

A second posted: “I’m really happy for Kate & I’mma let y’all finish but today is @Beyonce birthday you could have done this yesterday or tomorrow!”
