Top Gear episodes that were left unfinished following Jeremy Clarkson’s departure from the motoring show have been completed.

Presenters James May and Richard Hammond filmed the remaining footage at the show’s test track at Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey earlier this week.

Filming was suspended after Clarkson was found to have attacked producer Oisin Tymon.

Speaking earlier this year, BBC2 boss Kim Shillinglaw said there is "no way would I want [the unfinished footage] not to be seen by viewers".

It is believed that the competed footage will air this summer.

It is unclear if this is the last time that viewers will see May and Hammond on the BBC show, as it was reported yesterday that the pair have been offered a multi-million pound deal to return.

According to The Times, the presenters could earn a combined salary of £4.6m which would tie them in to two or three more series.

It has been reported that bosses are lining the pair up for a reworking of the show based on the format of Have I Got News For You? which sees a different star presenting each week.

Several names have been put forward as possible replacements for Clarkson, including Guy Martin and Jodie Kidd.

Clarkson, Hammond and May are currently on their live tour - something Clarkson described as “the most badly organised world tour in history”.

After performing at the Sheffield Motorpoint Arena tonight the tour will take the trio to South Africa, Poland, Australia and Norway.
