People magazine has awarded the 40-year-old actress Gwyneth Paltrow the title of World's Most Beautiful Woman - and put her on the cover, of course.

Paltrow, whose latest film is Iron Man 3 beat off competition from Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Lawrence, Pink and Halle Berry. But she insists that if people could see her at home in jeans and T-shirt they'd probably think again.

She went on to say that if she ever does dress up at home her husband, Chris Martin of Coldplay, makes fun of her. "He'll make a joke about it. If I've gotten fully dressed up, he'll be like, 'Oh, wow! You're Gwyneth Paltrow!' Because he's used to seeing me in like baggy shorts and frizzy hair."

Paltrow has two children with Martin, Apple, 8, and Moses, 7.

People magazine is clearly an ardent admirer because in September it declared she was the World's Best-Dressed Woman. Last year, the most beautiful woman accolade went to Paltrow's friend Beyoncé.
