Idris Elba took to the decks for Superdry co-founder Julian Dunkerton’s wedding day, as rumours that he will be the next James Bond continue to circulate.

The 45-year-old Luther star celebrated Dunkerton tying the knot to designer Jade Holland Cooper by spinning a few tracks for the 53-year-old and his bride at the weekend.

Elba was joined on stage by Craig David at one point with David serenading Holland on behalf of Dunkerton.

He previously hit the decks at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding reception earlier this year.

The news comes after Elba added fuel to rumours he could take over the role of James Bond from Daniel Craig with a cryptic Twitter post which left fans puzzled.

He shared a heavily filtered selfie in which only the top half of his face is visible, writing: "My name's Elba, Idris Elba."

Idris Elba sparks James Bond rumours on Twitter

Fans interpreted it as a reference to the famous spy's catchphrase "The name's Bond, James Bond", and immediately responded with excitement, with one writing: "Does this... mean what I think it means......"

One more wrote: "Please be 007 don’t tease us like this get that contract signed!!"

Another wrote: "If you're the next Bond, it will be the first Bond film I ever see."

Another said: "Ticket sales for women 18-74 for James Bond movies just maxed out!"

Elba has long been rumoured to be in the running to take over the role of 007, alongside Tom Hardy, James Norton and Tom Hiddleston.

Craig will reprise the role of the spy with the licence to kill for the 25th Bond film, which will be directed by Danny Boyle.
