Olivia Attwood has hit out at Chris Hughes after he appeared to accuse her of encouraging the abusive messages he has received.

Hughes, 34, revealed that he fell victim to death threats, claiming online trolls targeted him after the latest episode of their reality TV show Crackin’ On aired.

Posting on Instagram he wrote: “Having people who were once in your life encouraging hate is also concerning and disturbing but life goes on.

“Bitterness is nasty, hate is cruel. Focus on your own lives everyone.”

Attwood slammed Hughes’ post insisting she would never encourage hateful behaviour before taking a swipe at her ex.

“Just for the record I have never and would never encourage online hate, toward anyone, as I have been on the receiving end of that myself,” she tweeted.

“Must be a strange adjustment, to not have someone else to blame for absolutely everything.”

In a since deleted tweet, Hughes allegedly responded: “Don't start a war behind someone's back, and not expect them to speak up.

“Someone was quick to unlike those tweets about me being emotionally abusive, a bully etc for sticking up for myself in a 40 minute edited TV show.

“We were once best friends, nasty how things change people.”

Attwood is said to have replied: “The desperation Chris please leave me and my family alone. Especially my 18 year old brother, we are all bored of you and the trouble you have caused.”

She later added: “As if it's only midday on Monday, holy frick balls. Is it too early for a glass of wine?”

The couple recently called time on their relationship, just days before their reality show Crackin’ On was due to air.

Viewers will see the moment they decided to split on Wednesday night’s episode.
