Brendan Kenney is selling his three-bedroom Battersea flat through We're Moving to bankers Ian Clancy and Rochelle Rakic for £285,000. The fixed £1,500 fee saves him £4,800, he says.

Finding the flat on the net, complete with floor plans, was a great short-cut for Clancy and Rakic, who live in Shadwell, but wanted to move south of the river.

"We only had Saturdays free to go looking," says Clancy. "Travelling east to west takes a fair chunk out of the day."

For Kenney, being able to take buyers round the property himself was an advantage. An ex-marine engineer, now a qualified plumber, he did the conversion himself. "I could tell people about all the things I'd done and the history of the place," he says. Now he will be moving into another flat he has converted, while Clancy and Rakic are letting their twobedroom flat, so there is no chain. Communications with We're Moving, by phone and email, have been straightforward and contracts should be exchanged this month.
