X Factor hopeful Jake Quickenden pocketed 10 stars for his Croc Creek camp mates during last night's live Critter Cube trial.

The challenge - inspired by ITV game show The Cube - saw the 28-year-old balancing cylinders on top of one another while surrounded by biting green ants and balancing a ball with a snake around his neck. After picking 20 pigs testes up with his mouth and transferring to another bowl he joked: "I can still smell them. A bit like mine to be honest!"

Former footballer Jimmy Bullard was then told that he would be entering the Critter Cube in a bid to win more treats for the camp.

Earlier in the day TV presenter Mel Sykes managed to secure nine stars during her Hells Kitchen challenge -much to the delight of campers who had been living on rice and bean rations.

There was further good news when Jake and his Celebrity Intelligence Agency recruits Edwina Currie, Jimmy Bullard and Kendra Wilkinson revealed their identity to their camp mates after successfully completing their missions to sabotage the Dingo Dollar challenge, get someone to wash their clothes, get everyone in the pool, and keep quiet about the secret cave.

As a result everyone received a care package from home.

Broadcaster Michael Buerk was excited to open a bag of cashew nuts while Kendra broke down in tears on receiving a picture of her children.

World Superbike champion Carl Foggarty was surprised by the lies saying: "I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to be lied to before. Now it’s making sense. They threw the questions!"
