Holly Willoughby has revealed that she suffered a rather embarrassing wardrobe malfunction while visiting the Prime Minister.

The This Morning presenter has admitted that the zip on her dress split when she was in the toilet at 10 Downing Street during a recent charity function.

Posting a picture of the awkward dress disaster on her Instagram page, showing the red dress split from top to bottom, she wrote:

“Oops... Why does this always happen to me and at No 10 too.”

Willoughby decided to re-live the embarrassing incident for This Morning viewers when co-host Philip Scholfield asked her about it on Tuesday.

“As soon as we'd walked through that lovely, famous black door, I gave them my coat,” she said.

“You have to give your phone in because you're not allowed to have your phone, but we went up the grand staircase with all the PM's pictures, very beautiful, very lovely.”

“Dan needed the loo so I said, 'OK, I'll go to the loo too.' Went to the loo, stood up and then I heard this noise and my zip on the back of my dress went completely."

She continued: "Now this isn't just a little zip, this zip goes from top to bottom, so I am now stood there with no coat, no phone, in the toilet in Downing Street, on my own, thinking ‘what do I do. I can't walk out, my bum is out.’”

Luckily for the TV presenter, she was rescued by the next person who came to use the toilet, who she sent to find her husband.

“Dan went downstairs, thought this was hilarious, told the majority of people he met along the way, including all the staff that recommended I use gaffer tape to strap my dress up or safety pins. And I had to walk around in my coat all night,” she added.
