Harper Beckham appeared to take after her famous father as she practised her football skills.

Her footballer dad David, 45, shared a short clip of the eight-year-old leaping into the air after kicking the ball in the grounds of their Cotswolds home.

He also posted an image of Harper carefully tying the laces on her colourful football boots, wearing a ‘girl power’ beaded bracelet in a nod to her mum Victoria’s Spice Girls days.

David captioned the post “Bend it like Harper (BECKHAM)” in a throwback to the 2002 film Bend It Like Beckham, the title of which played on his infamous free kick-scoring abilities.

Commenting below, England player Nikita Parris suggested that Harper is a “future Lioness in the making,” while her godfather Ken Paves wrote: “Yeah Harper!!”

It’s not the first time that David has shared footage of Harper practising her football skills, and the pair have previously attended Lionesses matches together.

Speaking on The Graham Norton Show back in 2018, David explained that his youngest child normally plays the sport weekly - and shared his “heartbreak” that his three sons aren’t so keen on football.

“Harper is playing every Sunday and loves it,” he told Norton. “The boys don’t play and it’s heartbreaking.

“They have a talent but it’s down to Harper now. I get very enthusiastic when watching her.”

The Beckhams and their three youngest children Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15, and Harper have spent lockdown at their country residence in the Cotswolds.

Despite his father’s previous comments, Romeo appears to have been using the time at home to hone his football skills too, posting a video showing him practising taking a penalty on Father’s Day.

He captioned it: “Learning from the best on Father’s Day.”

Victoria also recently shared a video of the sweet Father’s Day card that Harper made for “superhero” dad David.
