Graham Norton has denied that he's leaving Twitter.

The chat show host and radio presenter, who reportedly said that the micro-blogging site isn't a ‘happy place’, won't be quitting just yet.

According to reports, the star announced his departure on his BBC Radio 2 show at the weekend, saying:

“I prefer Facebook because I have real friends there who agree with me. But on Twitter, not so much.”

He added: “I have kind of fallen out of love with Twitter. It’s not a happy world so I have left it.”

Norton’s last activity on Twitter was ahead of the EU Referendum, when he tweeted his support for remaining in the European Union.

But he has since tweeted to say that rumours about his departure from the site are "not true."

Stephen Fry famously quit Twitter again earlier this year, after falling out of love with the site.

The comedian and presenter decided to remove himself from the ‘Twittersphere’ after facing a backlash following the Bafta Awards.

Fry was bombarded with criticism after he called costume designer Jenny Beavan a ‘bag lady’ after she collected his award.

In an open letter on his website, he wrote: “I like to believe I haven’t slammed the door, much less stalked off in a huff throwing my toys out of the pram as I go or however one should phrase it.

“It’s quite simple really: the room had started to smell. Really quite bad.”
