Fadi Fawaz has hinted that George Michael’s funeral has already taken place.

The superstar’s other half has sparked rumours that the singer was laid to rest more than a week ago, despite reports that the burial was set to take place over the weekend in Highgate.

Retweeting an article about the funeral plans on Tuesday, Fawaz simply wrote: “9 days ago.”

A number of Michael’s fans were quick to respond to Fawaz, desperate for clarification about whether or not their idol’s funeral had already happened.

“4give me,just need to knw if he's at peace yet?we all need to move on but stuck in limbo.undstand secrecy/priv but gut wrenching (sic),” wrote one fan.

“what 9 days ago? Really I don't want to know everything...but is it about the article or funeral? I've been a fan for 32 years,” another person posted.

Michael’s family asked fans for privacy following his sudden death on Christmas Day, saying that the funeral would be a small and personal affair.

Fawaz recently claimed that he wasn’t involved in any of the funeral arrangements, saying that he had been left out of the planning.

“The funeral? I can’t give you an answer, everything is being kept quiet,” he told The Sun earlier this month.

“I can’t tell you about the funeral – it should have happened a long time ago. This has gone on and on. I was in the middle of it all.”

Fawaz added: “But I don’t know anything about the funeral, I really don’t know anything. Believe me. It’s all so strange.”
