George Clooney 'excited' to head home from Cannes to use lawn mower from wife Amal

Married life has clearly tamed George Clooney, who said he is excited to head home from Cannes Film Festival to use his new lawn mower.

George revealed that his wife Amal gifted him the gardening device on his 55th birthday this year.

Speaking to ET Canada about his excitement at receiving the present he said: "We have a beautiful front lawn at our house in England and I used to mow lawns when I was a kid.

"So she bought me this giant riding lawn mower that is sitting at the house right now and I'm very excited about putting that to work when I'm home."

But despite the domestic gift, the Hollywood couple did fly to the Bahamas to celebreate his birthday.

"I was in the Bahamas with my wife and a couple of friends, and took a little boat ride, and went to a restaurant, and had a great night," he said.

George is currently at Cannes to promote his latest film Money Monster in which he stars alongside Dominic West, Jack O’Connell and Julia Roberts.

The actress recently spoke about the "influence" human rights lawyer Amal has had on the Hollywood A-lister.

"Only when we're at their house I see the influence," Roberts said. "In a beautiful way that all wives kind of have a beautiful, loving influence over their husbands."

Clooney joked: "I would concur because there is no version that I could not concur. I would get into trouble."
