TV presenter Gaby Roslin has ruled herself out of hosting duties on Top Gear.

Roslin, 51, revealed she will not be hosting the BBC motoring show with new presenter Chris Evans – who was her co-star on The Big Breakfast.

Speaking at a special cook-in event for Gut Week she told Radio Times: “Top presenter, Top Guy, Top Gear.

“Chris and I remain friends and we adore each other. I saw him last week.”

Roslin - who presents The National Lottery Draws - said she would love to get back into live television.

She told the publication: “I would love to be doing television every day again – daily, live. I love it.”

Evans is the only confirmed presenter for the revamped BBC show following Jeremy Clarkson's sacking after he was involved in a “fracas” with producer Oisin Tymon.

Jodie Kidd, Guy Martin and Philip Glenister are among those rumoured to be joining the show as well as potential members of the public after bosses launched a talent search.

Evans explained the type of person he was looking for saying: “You could be auditioning to be a driver, you could be Stig, who knows? You could be auditioning to be a film reporter. You could be a co-host. If there's nobody right for this from the videos, we will not be appointing anyone. This is not a gimmick. This is real.

“You can be a mechanic, you can be an amateur racing car driver, you can be a guy who's a fireman but who's been building his own Land Rover in his shed for five years, but you've got to know about cars...”
