The red carpet is being rolled out and the glam squads are fully armed for one of the biggest nights in TV.

The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards will kick off tonight with a star-studded guest list set on celebrating the best shows from the last year.

Netflix will go head-to-head with HBO in a bid to bag the most awards after the streaming service surpassed the US broadcaster to break its record of being the most nominated network.

From presenters to nominations and after parties, here’s everything you need to know:

When is it?

The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards take place at the Microsoft Theatre, Los Angeles, on Monday, September 17.

Who is hosting?

Saturday Night Live stars Colin Jost and Michael Che are coupling up to take the reins from Stephen Colbert who last year opened the show with a Donald Trump-slating monologue.

Who is presenting?

Sandra Oh, Bob Odenkirk, Taraji P Henson, Rachel Brosnahan, nominee and Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown and comedian Tina Fey will be dishing out the coveted awards.

How can I watch?

Giuliana Rancic and Jason Kennedy will be chatting to all the talent for E!'s Live From The Red Carpet: The 2018 Emmy Awards which will air on Monday night from 11pm on E!

If you don’t mind spoilers or can avoid all news platforms, the best bits from the ceremony will be broadcast on Sky One from 10pm on Tuesday.

Who is attending?

A roll call of the world’s biggest names from Benedict Cumberbatch to John Legend, Jessica Biel and Michelle Dockery are down to attend.

Other names gearing up to work the red carpet include Crown star Claire Foy, Handmaids Tale actress Elisabeth Moss and Sterling K. Brown of This Is Us fame.

Who is nominated?

Game of Thrones and Westworld are the most nominated shows with 22 nominations each. Netflix is the dominating network with 112 nominations, up from 91 last year, for shows including Stranger Things, GLOW, The Crown, GLOW and Godless.
