Michelle Hardwick announces engagement to ITV producer Kate Brooks

Congratulations are in order for Emmerdale actress Michelle Hardwick who has announced her engagement to girlfriend Kate Brooks.

The 42-year-old star revealed she proposed to the ITV producer after months of planning, admitting it was “no ordinary proposal”.

Sharing the news on Instagram with a snap, Hardwick beamed as she stood alongside her other half with flutes of champagne in hand.

She captioned the post: “So after months of planning, I popped the question!!! She said yes!!! #loveislove #noordinaryproposal.”

Emotional fans were quick to congratulate the loved-up couple with many declaring it “beautiful” news.

One user wrote: “Congratulations such a beautiful picture.”

Another commented: “Gorgeous. Huge congratulations to you both!”

A third added: “Congratulations you two @missmichellehardwick it’s the most amazing day of your life she is a lucky lady.”

Others declared “love is in the air”, amid the celebrations.

The actress, who plays Vanessa Woodfield in the popular soap, found love with Brooks, who produces the show.

The news comes after Hardwick went public with the romance in September on National Coming Out Day.

She shared a number of snaps alongside Brooks wrapped up warm in matching woolly hats, by a river.
