Eminem made everyone lose their minds when he appeared to reveal he was looking for love on Tinder and Grindr.

The US rapper, real name Marshall Mathers, claimed to use dating apps to meet “chicks” following his two divorces from Kim Scott.

Fans were confused as to why he was using Grindr – an app used by gay and bisexual men – but it turns out he was joking.

Speaking to The Muse a representative for the 8 Mile star said: “I’m confirming that he was joking about using both Tinder and Grindr.”

Eminem went viral after he made the original comments during an interview with Vulture in which he claimed to have swapped strip clubs for dating apps.

“Well, yeah. Yeah Tinder. And Grindr. I also used to go to strip clubs,” he said.

“What can I say? Going to strip clubs is how I was meeting some chicks. It was an interesting time for me.

“It’s tough. Since my divorce I’ve had a few dates and nothing’s panned out in a way that I wanted to make it public.

“Dating’s just not where I’m at lately. Am I lonely? No, I’m good. Thanks for asking though.”

Fans couldn’t believe the admission, including Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid who tweeted: “Wait....what?! EMINEM IS ON TINDER?!? (And Grindr?!?) Not enough exclamation marks for this.”

Others slated the Vulture reporter for failing to follow-up after the rapper mentioned Grindr.

Eminem married his ex-wife Scott in 1999 but divorced just two years later. They remarried in 2006 only to divorce again later that year.

The couple have 21-year-old daughter Hailie together.
