Eminem has admitted he went “too far” after facing a backlash for using a homophobic slur to slam rapper Tyler, ‘The Creator’.

On controversial song Fall Eminem, real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III, rapped: “Tyler create nothing, I see why you called yourself a f***** b****. It’s not just ‘cause you lack attention.

“It’s because you worship D12’s balls, you’re sacrilegious. If you’re gonna critique me, you better at least be as good or better.”

In an interview with Sway, the 45-year-old said: “I think the word that I called him on that song was one of the things where I felt like this might be too far.

“Because in my quest to hurt him, I realise that I was hurting a lot of other people by saying it.

“It was one of the things that I kept going back to and going ‘I don’t feel right with this.’”

The opening track of the surprise record saw him rip into the US president by referencing his two freestyle performance shading the “evil serpent.”

He rapped: “[Trump] sent the Secret Service to meet in person. To see if I really think of hurtin’ him.

“I empathise with the people this evil serpent sold the dream to that he’s deserted.”

He went on to hit out at God’s Plan hit-maker Drake, criticising reports that he may have used ghost writers: “You got some views but you’re still below me.

“Mine are higher so when you compare our views you get overlooked and I don’t say a hook unless I wrote the hook.”
