Eddie Redmayne has revealed that he lost his wedding ring only months after getting married to his wife Hannah Bagshawe.

The couple tied the knot at Babington House in December, but Redmayne confessed that he lost the band while filming The Danish Girl earlier this year.

Speaking to E! News, the Academy Award winning actor explained how getting into costume to play transgender artist lead to him losing the ring.

"When you're filming you have to take off these things and I actually lost my wedding ring so this is a new wedding ring that is being worn,” he said.

"I was pinning it to my costume every day and one day it disappeared."

Speaking about revealing the bad news to his wife, the Theory of Everything actor said: "I sort of skirted around it. But anyhow, I like the new one."

Redmayne - who is set to celebrate his first wedding anniversary with Bagshawe later this year - said that he is enjoying married life.

"I'm loving the first year of marriage," he told the publication. "I'm a lucky man."
