Ed Sheeran celebrated his Grammys victories with a cute snap of his cat, after admitting he didn’t even watch the ceremony.

Sheeran – who scooped Best Pop Solo Performance and Pop Vocal album gongs – skipped out on the awards in New York City on Sunday.

The Shape of You singer did, however, acknowledge his double win with a very adorable snap on his Instagram page.

Sheeran wrote: “Woke up to the news I won two grammys last night. Thank you ! This little fluff-ball is doing a bit of a celebratory dance, lots of love to everyone xx”

Fans immediately commented on the post congratulating the star on his prestigious awards, which come just a week after the star announced he had got engaged to his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn.

However, during the James Corden hosted ceremony, not everybody was pleased Sheeran had walked away with the awards with some even booing the singer.

In the Solo Pop category, Sheeran beat Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga, Pink and Kesha for his gong – with many believing that Kesha deserved the accolade.

Fans online were divided after Kesha’s snub for emotional song Praying, which she performed on stage, documenting her struggles with depression after experiencing sexual assault.

Attendees were left in tears after the star performed her comeback single with accompaniment from Camila Cabello, Cyndi Lauper, Julia Michaels, Bebe Rexha and Andra Day all dressed in white.
