Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson melted hearts everywhere after he gave his mum Ata a brand new house for Christmas.

The Rampage actor shared video of his mum opening a Christmas card with a “golden ticket” inside.

Ata, 70, read out loud: “We love you mom, and merry Christmas. This Willy Wonka golden ticket is good for...”

Bursting into tears, she completed: “A brand new home.”

Opening up on the gift in an Instagram post, Johnson admitted the gesture “felt good.”

He wrote: “The first home my parents ever lived in was the one I bought for them in 1999.

"They divorced about 5yrs later and as with life, stuff happens and things got a little complicated.

“Since then I always made sure my mom and dad have everything they’ll ever need - houses, cars etc. But the house this time is a special one and the timing is very meaningful.

“I told her to treat this card like it’s “Willy Wonka’s Golden Ticket” because she gets to choose any home she wants - anywhere she wants.” [sic]

Johnson, 46, went on to declare himself “one lucky SOB” for being able to give his mum a new house.

The gesture appeared to resonate with fans as many hailed the star an “inspiration.”

One user wrote: “Such a beautiful moment! Thank you for sharing it with us @therock! You are an inspiration and a wonderful role model of a man! I can only hope that one day I’ll be able to offer one tenth of what my parents have given me.”

A second added: “I got teary eyed watching your mom‘s reaction having her brand new home as your Christmas gift to her! Wow! You are one of a kind!”

A third commented: “Dwayne you are someone super special and this made me cry and made my heart all warm and fuzzy bless you.”

The drama delves into the true story of WWE professional wrestler Paige and is expected to release in February next year.
