Dwayne Johnson has launched a scathing attack on his Fast and Furious 8 male co-stars, labelling them “candy a****”.

The actor, also known as The Rock, said his blood was “boiling” on the set of the latest instalment due to the lack of professionalism from some cast members.

Johnson – who stars alongside names including Vin Diesel, Scott Eastwood, Ludacris and Jason Statham – praised the “hard working crew” and his female co-stars before hitting out at mystery male actors.

In an impassioned Instagram rant he wrote: “This is my final week of shooting #FastAndFurious8. There's no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one. An incredible hard working crew. UNIVERSAL has been great partners as well. My female co-stars are always amazing and I love 'em.

He continued: “My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don't.

“The ones that don't are too chicken s*** to do anything about it anyway. Candy a****.”

The actor said he was so angry on set that his blood was “legit boiling” which he said helped him get into character as Government bounty hunter Luke Hobbs.

He finished: “Bottom line is it'll play great for the movie and fits this Hobbs character that's embedded in my DNA extremely well. The producer in me is happy about this part. Final week on FAST 8 and I'll finish strong.”
