Demi Lovato fans have taken to social media to share their stories of how the singer has helped them in the wake of her hospitalisation.

The 25-year-old pop star is now reportedly 'awake and stable' in hospital after being found unconscious at her Hollywood Hills home yesterday.

Lovato was treated at the scene with naloxone, an anti-overdose medicine, according to celebrity website TMZ.

Following the reports, fans have penned personal messages on how the Skyscraper singer had inspired them with the hashtag ‘#HowDemiHelpedMe’, hailing her a "hero".

One user wrote: “If it wasn't for Demi Lovato being vocal about mental health when I was in middle school, I wouldn't be the mental health advocate that I am today.

"She's helped me become educated about mental health and empathetic towards others. I send her nothing but love and support.”

Another added: “Demi Lovato has helped me through so much without her and her music i don’t think I woulda ever had the courage to come out or have found the strength to break from my addiction. please stop making jokes and keep her in your thoughts. please.” [sic]

A third shared: “Demi helped me with gaining confidence demi helped me by just her music when I was going through a hard time her music was there for me #HowDemiHasHelpedMe.”

Whilst another posted: “She helped me at the worst moment of my life .. I was bullyied and Demi was always there with her songs, her book, her movies, her strength, her smile.

"I had a little strength to not want to finish with my life and it was hard .. i love her so much #HowDemiHasHelpedMe.” [sic]
