They say you shouldn’t work with children or animals. And David Gandy got a rather painful reminder of why as he posed for the cameras at a Battersea Dogs & Cats Home event.

The model, who is an ambassador for the charity, was given quite a shock as one of the shelter’s residents jumped up, appearing to nip him between the legs, at the  Collars and Coats Gala last night.

The event raises funds for the charity.  Gandy, 33, from Essex, is also supporting the home by offering fans the chance to bid for a dog-walking date with him.
