Daniel Craig is officially the second longest-serving James Bond of all time, overtaking Pierce Brosnan.

The British actor, who is yet to confirm whether or not he’ll be making another 007 film, took on the famous role almost 11-and-a-half years ago.

Having starred in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre, Craig has been Bond for a total of 4147 days.

This means that he has now surpassed Brosnan’s time as the secret service spy, which lasted for four films and 4146 days.

Craig seems unlikely to beat Roger Moore to claim the number one spot, unless he signs on to make another film.

Moore was officially Bond for seven films and 5118 days, meaning that Craig would need another two-and-a-half years in the role to surpass him.

Original Bond Sean Connery is in fourth place on the list, followed by Timothy Dalton and finally George Lazenby, who appeared in just one film.

The figures, complied by the Press Association, are based on the period the actor was officially confirmed in the role to the day their successor was announced.

While Craig is still officially under contract, it is still unknown whether ot not he will star in the next film.

Executive Producer Callum McDougall recently said that he would ‘love’ the actor to return to the role, saying:

“Without question, he is absolutely [producer] Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson’s first choice and I know they are hoping for him to come back.”

Other stars reportedly in the running include Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, James Norton and Aidan Turner.
