Carol Vorderman has admitted that she had to receive medical attention this week when her exercise routine went badly wrong.

The former Countdown presenter revealed that she had been left ‘covered in burns’ after she fell off a treadmill while working out with no clothes on.

Making the surprising admission during a Twitter conversation with a friend, the 54-year-old said:

“It's hilarious.Pain? I fell off a treadmill running naked (don't ask).Now covered in burns and doctor's dressings!”

Trying to explain how the accident occurred, although not explaining why she had no clothes on, Vorderman tweeted:

"I don't vary much, but my range is about 10 pounds. I'm at the upper end of it. So that's going to go."

Vorderman added: 'I have found that in my fifties – and everybody in their fifties finds the same – you can pile on weight a lot faster.”
