The biggest names in British music will be honoured at the 2017 BRIT Awards tonight.

A host of musical talent will descend on London's O2 Arena to walk the red carpet and see who will take home the iconic trophies.

Here is everything you need to know:

When is it?

The annual event will take place at London’s O2 Arena on Wednesday, February 22.

The red carpet will kick start the proceedings before the ceremony – which will be aired live on ITV at 7:30 pm.

The stars will then head off to a host of after-parties including Universal, Warner and Sony.

Who is hosting?

Emma Willis and Dermot O’Leary will play host at this year’s ceremony after Michael Bublé was forced to step down after his three year-old son was diagnosed with cancer. Willis said she hopes to do Bublé “proud” while O’Leary said it was an “honour” to step in.

Who is performing?

US pop superstar Katy Perry is the biggest name on this year's bill. Fresh off the back of the Grammy Awards she will take to the stage to perform her new single Chained to the Rhythm. Ed Sheeran will also perform one of his new singles while other acts include Robbie Williams, Little Mix, Emeli Sande and The 1975.

Who will win?

Robbie Williams will follow in the footsteps of Sir Elton John and David Bowie when he receives the coveted BRIT Icon award. It is the highest accolade bestowed by the British recording industry's flagship ceremony and it's presented to artists whose writing, recording and performances have set them apart as having made a "lasting impact"..

Speaking about the gong, which will be his 18th, he said: “The BRIT Awards are very special to me and I’m humbled to be receiving the 18th of my career next month.”
