No matter what they may have said in the past, Boyzone have finally announced plans to reunite in celebration of their 25th anniversary.

The Irish boyband, who shot to fame in the 1990s, are planning new music and “lots of touring” to mark the quarter of a century milestone.

Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham announced the news on Instagram before unveiling details for a “special summer show” at Royal Windsor Racecourse in August.

Alongside a picture of the quartet, they posted: “2018 will see Boyzone celebrate their 25th anniversary! That's something that Ronan, Keith, Mikey & Shane are incredibly proud of.

“Plans are being hatched for new music and lots of touring throughout the year. But next year still seems a long way off so in case you can't wait, the Boyz are hitting the road for some exclusive UK shows later this summer.

“Dates and ticketing details will be announced here soon... #boyzone2017.”

Boyzone were first brought together in 1993 by X Factor judge Louis Walsh. They went on to dominate the charts with six UK Number One singles, including Words and No Matter What before splitting in 1999.

In 2010 they reunited to record their fourth and most recent album, Brother, as a tribute to founding band-member Stephen Gately, who died in 2009.

Fans were left ecstatic by the news with one tweeting: “My life has just got a whoooole lot better.”

Another posted: “Liam tweeting HB to Noel & news that Boyzone are back together, can make you think, maybe, just maybe, all can be right with the world.”

Boyzone are one of many groups to reunite in recent months, including Bananarama and Bros.
