Beyonce and Jay-Z sent fans into meltdown as they showed pictures of them holding two babies at the start of their On The Run II tour, with many thinking the twins were Rumi and Sir Carter.

The crowd, and those following along via tweets, went wild after seeing the snaps of both artists cradling young children, many soon speculating they were the twins.

Separating the two images as they launched their tour in Cardiff was a title card reading “love is universal”.

But a spokesperson for the couple confirmed to Buzzfeed that the babies were not Rumi and Sir Carter, who will be 1 on June 13.

However, towards the end of the concert, the twins did feature in a home video alongside sister Blue Ivy, six.

The same video also featured footage of the Lemonade artist’s pregnancy and birth.

Beyonce announced the birth of the twins last year with an adorable snap on her Instagram of her cradling the infants a month after they were born,

Wednesday’s show at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff was the first of five in the UK, several years after their first joint tour.

The A-List couple will perform in Glasgow, Manchester and London in the coming weeks to packed crowds.
