Ben Stiller's infamous Blue Steel saw him pout his way into the record books at the Zoolander 2 UK premiere.

Stiller, 50, set the Guinness World Record for the longest selfie stick at Thursday night's event.

The actor - who plays “really, really, ridiculously good-looking" model Derek Zoolander in the hotly anticipated sequel - gathered the cast to take a selfie with an 8.56 metre stick.

After battling with the winds and struggling to get the prop in place, an adjudicator confirmed that the actor had set a new world record and presented him with an official Guinness certificate.

Celebrating his achievement on Twitter, Stiller posted the selfie alongside the caption: "This was much more dangerous than it looks."

The actor was joined on the cobalt blue carpet by Owen Wilson - who plays Hansel in the film - as well as co-stars Will Ferrell (Mugatu), Kristen Wiig (Alexanya Atoz) and Penelope Cruz (Valentina).

Stiller also paid tribute to the late David Bowie - who played an ajudicator in the original Zoolander.

"He was a huge influence on so many people, I think on our culture, in the last 40, 50 years - when you go back and look at how long he was making music and how ahead of the curve he always was and always taking chances," Stiller said.

"So I think I'm like everyone else - influenced by him in that way.

"And it would have been great to have him in the second one.

"But having him in the first was a very special thing, and I will always cherish that."

Zoolander 2 is set for UK cinema release on February 12.
