Ben Affleck thinks that the presidential election could be the subject of a horror movie.

The US A-lister, who has made donations to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, thinks that the election race is strange enough to be made into a film.

Speaking at the London premiere of his new film The Accountant, Affleck admitted that he thought Clinton vs Donald Trump is a ‘great story’.

“It's a great story, I don’t know if it's a horror movie or a drama or what, but it's quite a story,” he said on the red carpet.

Co-star Anna Kendrick had other ideas, adding: “Oh my God, I don’t want to think about this election ever again. I don't want a movie about it, I don’t want to think about it.”

Earlier in the week, Affleck told People Magazine: “If there is ever an example of truth being stranger than fiction, it is this election this year.

Speaking about Trump’s misogynistic comments about 'grabbing [women] by the p****’, which he dismissed as ‘locker room talk’, Affleck said:

“I think, probably, what he was trying to say was that it was a private conversation that he didn’t intend for anyone to hear.

“People have to form their own judgments about what that kind of conversation says about the participants.”

When asked if he could see Trump ever becoming President, the actor added: “No, I don’t think so.”

Affleck isn’t the only Hollywood A-lister to speak out against Trump as Tom Hanks and Robert De Niro have both made their views publically known.

“You know, look, I’m voting for Hillary Clinton. I’m not making any secret about that because I have absolutely no faith in a self-serving gas bag like the other guy who’s running for President,” Hanks told LBC last week.
