Ariana Grande has arrived back in the UK ahead of her One Love Manchester benefit concert on Sunday, joined by her family.

The US pop star, 23, touched down at Stansted airport on Friday morning accompanied by her boyfriend Mac Miller and her mum and dad, Joan Grande and Edward Butera.

Grande was flanked by a number of security guards as she made her way from her private plane to her car before setting off for Manchester.

The singer’s return to the UK, just two weeks after the Manchester Arena terror attack that killed 22 people, comes amid a row over tickets for the benefit concert, which saw a number of survivors reportedly miss out.

Ticketmaster faced a series of problems when the tickets went on sale on Thursday, with those who had purchased their original tickets on resale websites unable to register.

They later revealed that they have had “10,000 unscrupulous applications for free tickets”, which were made available to those who attended the Manchester Arena concert.

A spokesperson said in a statement: “We have set aside tickets for the 14,200 people who were at the Ariana Grande concert to attend One Love Manchester for free.

“More than 25,000 people applied for them. Sadly, over 10,000 unscrupulous applications have been made.

“At Ticketmaster we are doing everything we can – including extending today’s deadline - to ensure that tickets go to the actual fans and not the opportunists or touts who have also been applying for free tickets.”

The One Love Manchester concert at the city's Old Trafford cricket ground is being shown across BBC radio and TV but will also be screened live in scores of countries around the world.

Deals are still being hammered out but some countries, including Australia, are expected to show the concert live on multiple channels at the same time which increases the potential audience while others will show extended highlights packages because of the time difference.

One BBC insider said: "Arranging things like this normally takes months of planning so you can imagine people have been working around the clock to sign deals, clear schedules and get everything in place so it is the best we can make it and a fitting tribute to the people who died.

"The scale of the global interest in this means there is nothing normal about it."

Twenty-two people died and 116 were injured in a suicide bombing at the end of Grande's show last month and Sunday's event is expected to raise £2 million for the victims and their families.

She will be joined at the gig by stars including Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Take That and Robbie Williams.
