Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will look back at their three decades in television during an online event.

The presenting pair, who are releasing a book titled Once Upon A Tyne, will recall their rise from acting in Newcastle-set drama Byker Grove to securing a string of their own shows on prime time TV.

All profits from the session, part of the Fane Online series, will go to The Prince’s Trust.

They said: “Seeing as we can’t meet you all face to face in the current climate, we thought it would be a great idea to put on this event and see you all virtually.

“You’ll be able to ask us plenty of questions about being on the telly together for 30 years and we can share some of our favourite stories from the book.”

The Fane Online programme features speakers including Arsene Wenger, Graham Norton, Elizabeth Day, Ovie Soko and Sir Trevor McDonald.

Ant and Dec were forced to film their Saturday Night Takeaway show without a studio audience this year due to restrictions on public gatherings implemented during the first months of the coronavirus pandemic.

They hosted the series finale from their homes in April.

In June, the pair issued a public apology for a segment of Saturday Night Takeaway in which they impersonated people of colour using blackface.

The pair darkened their skin and wore prosthetics for the undercover sketch, in which they pranked famous faces while in disguise.

They said they were “sincerely sorry” for the segments.

A Live Stream With Ant And Dec will go on sale here at 10am on Saturday, July 31.
