Alex Turner has had a major image change and ditched his trademark long locks, sending fans into a frenzy.

The Arctic Monkeys frontman has finally had his 2007 Britney Spears hair moment, and his die-hard fans are divided.

The 32-year-old, who has become renowned for his signature long-haired look, has gone a bit crazy with the razer and shaved his entire head.

Turner debuted the look on American talk show The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday.

The look sent fans of the rock group into a social media storm.

One wrote: “I LOVE IT!!!! I knew he’d rock it. I mean...cmon, he’s Alex Turner.”

Another commented: “HE’S AMAZING IN ALL SHAPES AND FORMS.”

A third said: “Looks good tbh.”

Whilst some fans declared they were “into it” others were less impressed and demanded fans “pay respects for that beautiful hair.”

A second posted: “B-but his hair was so hot before.”

A third added: “I REALLY hope everything is OK and he just wanted a shocking change. But this seems so...not him.”

The new haircut comes months after the band released their latest album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino which left fans divided by their new 'alternative' sound, with some branding it a brave new direction and others lamenting the move away from their iconic sound.

Taking to social media to share their thoughts, some fans praised the album for its “maturity" while others called it "pretentious"
