It’s the TV show fans have waited nearly two decades to see.

In an episode of I’m Alan Partridge - titled A Room With Alan - Partridge (Steve Coogan) tried in vain to impress BBC Chief Commissioning Editor Tony Hayers (David Schneider) with ideas for a new show.

One such idea was Youth Hostelling With Chris Eubank – and the trailer is finally here.

The former boxer has teamed up with Hostel World to record a short teaser for the hotly anticipated show.

Eubank – dressed in his trademark vintage suit, complete with a monocle and cane – can be seen checking into a hostel where he deems one room “splendid”, another as “extraordinary” and even tries out a “quite good” bunk bed for comfort.

After discovering the free Wi-Fi and checking out the grand staircase, the father-of-four can even be seen entertaining fellow guests at the accommodation before offering up some words of wisdom.

“The key thing in life is to be humble, just be little,” he tells viewers. “That way you have nowhere to fall.”

Speaking of the venture, Eubank said: "Up until recently, I had absolutely no idea why people used to mention hostels to me and smile. It was truly an unsolved mystery to me.

“Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank has now become a reality and finally, albeit a little embarrassed and ashamed, I'm in on the joke 18 years after Alan Partridge pitched it!"

The clip comes a week after the star revealed he is still “confused and perplexed” by the Partridge joke.

He tweeted: “I have been seeing this for a very long time yet have never really understood it! Can someone explain what all the fuss is about?"
