Adele is reportedly set to miss out on millions by cancelling her final Wembley gigs as they were due to be filmed for her tour DVD.

The British superstar was left “heartbroken” after vocal cord damage left her unable to complete the UK leg of her world tour, but it seems that it could also leave her significantly out of pocket.

According to reports, concert producers had set up 100 cameras to record Adele’s final two shows for Adele Live 2017: The Finale, which was expected to make millions in sales.

“The DVD was a huge production and all the plans were in place for it to go ahead. But obviously that extra pressure must have been on her mind as her voice problem developed," a source told The Sun.

“It’s a big disappointment, but nobody knows at this stage if it will happen again. Of course the DVD would have made millions in global sales.”

Fans gathered at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night to have their own Adele sing-along after the 29-year-old pulled out of the weekend’s shows.

People who had already paid for their travel and accommodation in London ahead of the concerts decided to congregate at the stadium, despite the fact that the superstar wasn’t in attendance.

Hundreds met at the stadium after a social media call out appeared on Twitter with the hashtag #SingForAdele.

It read: “Adele can't sing for us, but we can sing for her.”

The 29-year-old singer apologised after damaged vocal cords meant thousands of fans missed out on seeing the star perform her last concerts of the year at Wembley.

She had already performed two nights to crowds of around 98,000 fans on Wednesday and Thursday night and tickets for her Saturday and Sunday shows were also due to be before capacity crowds.

In a lengthy apology posted on social media, Adele said: "To say I'm heartbroken would be an understatement.

"The last two nights at Wembley have been the biggest and best shows of my life. To come home to such a response after so long away doing something I never thought I could pull off but did has blown me away.

"However, I've struggled vocally on both nights. I had to push a lot harder than I normally do."
