Adele has said her son will grow up to “respect” women as she is a “powerful force”.

The multi-award winning singer is a mother to four-year-old Angelo who she has with Simon Konecki.

Speaking to OK! about his upbringing she said: “I'm raising him to respect women. He knows I'm a powerful force.

“He feels it at home, let alone when he comes to work with me! And he comes everywhere with me.”

Adele also opened up about her Grammy Awards win earlier this month which saw her take home the coveted Album of the Year gong.

She dedicated the award to fellow nominee Beyoncé, who she said should have received the honour.

“I am of course very grateful to have won it,” she told the magazine.

“But I felt the need to say that because I love her and I felt like she was more worthy.”

The Hello singer snapped her award in half to share with her “idol” on collecting the gong.

Speaking on stage she said: “I felt like it was her time to win. What the f*** does she have to do to win album of the year? That's how I feel.”

She continued: “I spoke to her before just to let her know how honoured and privileged I felt to be nominated alongside her, and we spoke afterward as well and she was very gracious and humble, as always, as we've come to expect.

“And the reason I felt the need to say something is because my album of the year is Lemonade. She is my icon of my whole life.”
