Adele is reportedly being lined up to perform during the Super Bowl halftime show next year.

The British superstar, who is currently on the North American leg of her world tour, is reportedly in talks to secure her spot as the mid-game entertainment for 2017.

Following in the footsteps of The Rolling Stones and Prince, organisers are thought to be keen to bag the chart-topper after her global success with album 25.

An NFL source told The Sun: “There is nobody bigger in the world than Adele right now and organisers are doing absolutely everything they can to try to persuade her to sign up.

“She’s sold out every date on her tour, everyone wants a piece of her and they know they can bank on her bringing in the viewers.”

The biggest date in America’s sporting calendar will be held at Houston’s NRG Stadium in Texas on February 5 next year.

The event will take place just one week before the Grammy’s, where Adele is expected to win big.

Last year’s Super Bowl halftime show was watched by a staggering 115 million viewers in the US, featuring performances by Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruno Mars.

Adele is known for being candid with her crowd on stage, recently telling her audience at the Staples Center that she was trying to curb her swearing habit.

Speaking on stage on Monday, she said: “I’m trying to powder my tongue a little bit and not swear so much.

“I see lots of mothers here, so forgive me if I do. Just know if I do, I never mean it meanly, all right?”
