Adele could be heading to Hollywood for her debut film role.

The British superstar, 29, is said to be in talks to star in a new film adaptation of the hit musical Oliver!

Adele, who recently wrapped up a mammoth world tour, was reportedly approached by movie bosses to take on Nancy, a character played by Shani Wallis in the 1968 film.

A source told The Sun that taking on the role could allow her to work and spend time with her four-year-old son Angelo.

“It would be a major part for her and she’s seriously considering it,” they said.

“She’s talked about Angelo being her number one priority and she sees this as a role that he could appreciate too.

“It would be a new challenge for her but one she would definitely be up for.”

Adele fans get-together at Wembley

Based on Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist, the film will be produced by Sir Cameron Mackintosh and Working Title Films, according to reports.

The reports come weeks after Adele hinted that she may quit touring.

In a handwritten note hidden away in programmes at her gigs she told fans that she is a “homebody” and that touring “doesn’t suit me particularly well”.

She continued: “I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artist have had on me live.

“And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home.

“Thank you for coming, for all of your ridiculous love and kindness. I will remember all of this for the rest of my life. Love you. Goodnight for now.”
