This year’s Brit Awards guests will be given white pins to wear on the red carpet to show support for the Time’s Up campaign and #MeToo movement.

Stars including Rita Ora, Dua Lip and Ed Sheeran are expected to wear roses pinned to their outfits during the annual ceremony at London’s O2 next Wednesday.

Brits organisers have informed all record labels that their artists will be offered a pin on arrival at the event.

The letter stated that the roses are a “symbol of solidarity, which we invite them to wear, if they so choose.”

The move comes after Grammy Award organisers asked artist to wear white roses to last month’s ceremony to show support for those who have suffered harassment, abuse and inequality in the music industry.

Stars including Lana Del Rey, Pink, Lady Gaga and Elton John all pinned the flowers to their outfits as they walked the red carpet.

“It's incredible how the world is pivoting in a new direction. The more voices that come together, the more powerful everything gets,” said Ora at the event.

Following the recent sexual harassment scandal that has rocked the entertainment industries, A-list stars chose to wear black to this year’s Golden Globes in support of victims.

Stars of the big screen are expected to do the same at this Sunday’s Bafta Awards.

Artists Justin Timberlake, Sam Smith, Foo Fighters and Stormzy will perform at this year’s Brits, hosted for the first time by Jack Whitehall.

Sheeran and Dua Lipa will battle it out with J Hus, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and Stormzy for British Album of the Year.
