Brian Dowling has revealed he has been given the seal of approval to present 'Big Brother' by Davina McCall.

McCall, 43, who fronted the show for 10 years on Channel 4 prior to handing over the reigns to the former reality show winner when the series re-launches on Channel 5 later this month, has said the Irishman is "the right man for the job".

Dowling enthused: "I owe all this to Davina. Thanks for resigning! Thank God she said no to the job."

However the 33-year-old, who won 'Big Brother' in 2001 and was crowned champion of 'Ultimate Big Brother' last year, admitted he is extremely nervous about fronting the high-profile programme.

"I keep thinking I'll have to take something to get me over the first show," he said. "This is nerves beyond anything I've ever done. I'm going to be s***ting it.

"But do you know what my biggest fear is? Saying, 'Hello Big Brother house, this is Davina. You're live on Channel 4'."
