The biggest night in the British awards season calendar is nearly upon us as the A-list gear up to decsend on the 70th annual BAFTA Awards this Sunday.

Presenters, nominees and film industry insiders will brave the snow to walk the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall, before this year’s biggest films get recognised with the iconic gold trophies.

Nominees including Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep are all expected to attend, as well as British hopefuls including Andrew Garfield, Emily Blunt and Naomie Harris.

This year’s awards are also set to be a royal affair as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be in attendance.

Here’s what you need to know about this year’s BAFTAs:

When does it happen?

This year’s red carpet arrivals commence at 4.15pm, with guests seated at around 6.45pm.

The ceremony will take place between 7-9.30pm, with the broadcast airing on BBC One at 9pm.

All guests and winners will then head to Grosvenor House for the BAFTAs dinner and afterparty, which is expected to go on until late.

Who will be there?

As well as all of the nominees, other guests expected to attend include Tom Hiddleston, Mark Rylance, Penelope Cruz, Simon Pegg, Rafe Spall, Daisy Ridley and Eddie Redmayne.

Stephen Fry returns to present the ceremony, while Laura Whitmore will be acting as red carpet host.

Comedy legend Mel Brooks will also be in attendance to pick up the BAFTA Fellowship.

Who will win?

It is expected to be clean sweep for Damian Chazelle’s La La Land following a impressive haul at last month’s Golden Globes.

Casey Affleck could pip Gosling to the post for Best Actor for his role in Manchester By The Sea, while either Emma Stone or Isabelle Huppert could walk away with the Best Actress gong.
