The stars of the small screen let their hair down to celebrate the Bafta Television Awards into the small hours.

Kate Winslet, Ben Whishaw, Anne-Marie Duff and Claudia Winkleman were among the big name stars to win at last night’s awards – held at the Royal Festival Hall on Sunday night.

Hollywood star Winslet, 47, won the best actress award for her performance in Channel 4’s drama I Am Ruth, which follows a mother and daughter working through emotional turmoil.

Her real-life daughter Mia Threapleton played her child in the show.

In an emotional acceptance speech, the Titanic star said: “If I could break it in half, I would give the other half to my daughter – we did this together, kiddo.”

Comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan hosted the glitzy awards ceremony, with shows such as Bad Sisters, Derry Girls and This is Going to Hurt all taking home gongs.

Derry Girls star Siobhan McSweeney won best female comedy performance.

Winkleman, 51, won best entertainment performance for her hosting role in surprise success story The Traitors, which also won best reality show – with its cast celebrating late into the night at the official after-party.

The likes of broadcaster Clara Amfo, presenter Joel Dommett and his pregnant wife Hannah Cooper, actor David Harewood and presenter AJ Odudu also attended the after parties, where Laura Whitmore DJed into the small hours.
