This Morning fans were left stunned as Hollywood A-Lister Austin Butler decided to be a good sport and join in the show's regular Spin To Win slot.

The Dune and Elvis actor caused viewers to flock to Twitter to share their surprise and confusion that he not only appeared on the ITV show, but that he got involved in the popular game.

Butler, 28, who was joined by his Masters of the Air co-star Callum Turner on the sofa for a joint interview, was roped in to assist with Spin To Win alongside hosts Dermot O'Leary and Sian Welby.

One viewer wrote: "Nothing to see here. Just Austin Butler playing Spin to Win on #ThisMorning."

Another said: "Austin Butler on This Morning wasn’t on my 2024 predictions not gonna lie."

"The fact that Austin Butler is gonna be on this morning and possibly be chatting to Alison Hammond is such an odd crossover for me," said a third.

While a fourth said: "This is the Twilight Zone seeing Austin Butler doing Spin The Wheel like he's just some local celeb. What a coup!"

But for the actor the frivolous fun was old hat as he appeared in many family-friendly films such as Nickelodeon's Zoey 101, Disney's Wizards Of Waverly Place and 20th Century Fox's Aliens In The Attic, before he hit the big time.

The Hollywood star made the transition into blockbuster films when he appeared in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time In Hollywood opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie.

After the Spin To Win segment, Butler joined Turner, 33 - who is said to be dating pop star Dua Lipa - on the sofa to promote their new Apple TV+ show.

Masters of the Air's synopsis reads: "During World War II, airmen risk their lives with the 100th Bomb Group, a brotherhood forged by courage, loss and triumph."

"We play two pilots that others in the group looked up to. It was like Band Of Brothers," said Butler, to which Turner added: "These guys changed the direction of the war so to play them was an honour. We had to do a boot camp to prepare for the series."
