Man to be sentenced for abduction

John Bush will be sentenced after he admitted sexual activity with a child, child abduction and making off without paying for two hotel rooms
4 November 2013

A 35-year-old man who went on the run with a 14-year-old girl will be sentenced today.

John Bush disappeared with the girl, who cannot be named, in June.

A nationwide police hunt was launched after the teenager went missing from her home near Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

She was found with Bush four days later by police at Euston Station, in central London.

Last month Bush admitted abducting and having sex with the teenager.

He pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a child, child abduction and making off without paying for two hotel rooms.

At the last hearing Judge Paul Watson QC told Bush: ''Custody would appear to be the only outcome.''

Bush, of Moss Road, Askern, Doncaster, is in custody and will be sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court.
